The island of Mauritius offers you one stunning resort after the other. But every resort has a different atmosphere. During my trip I stayed at different resorts, but when you ask me for my favorite one I have to say: Le Saint Géran.
This post is a review of the luxury life at the One&Only Le Saint Géran resort; a special place where…..
…paradise unveils as soon as you open the balcony doors of your Ocean Suite.
….a private peninsula awaits you where the sun sparkles through the palm trees.
….this breakfast with a view was the most amazing one!
….lunch is served out of a fishing boat.
….you can dream away on the pristine white sand of a private beach.
….an old palm tree at the entrance makes returning guests feel at home. This palm tree is as old as the hotel and renovation after renovation the tree has been kept as it is. It will stay there; a nice detail that shows the true characteristic of the hotel.
….you can enjoy an exclusive and personalized 7-day holistic wellbeing program called Harmonia. A program full of meditation, massage, spa treatments and a personalized diet based on Chinese medicine. Contact Francesc Miralles (the resorts Chinese medicine authority and practitioner) for more information.
….your taste buds are being indulged in a real tropical waterside restaurant (with jaw-dropping views) featuring modern Indian cuisine of the Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia.
….you feel special and welcome, surrounded by friendly people like our host at the Rasoi Vineet Indian restaurant.
….according to sommelier Michael Bongrand, wine is King and winetasting is a true art…(and he is right!)
….the taste of wine changes after each canapé. At le Saint Géran you can book your own special wine and canapé tasting in the kitchen (!) together with the chef and the sommelier.
….some lucky #MyMauritius travel bloggers had an unforgettable time. With Keith of Velvet Escape and Ishay and Jelle of Food and the Fabulous.
….everyday is full of activities: (water) sports, wellness, dining…. Even the hotel manager jogs with hotel guests on Thursday at 7am [and I can confirm that]!
….rooms are spacious and you can see hammocks hanging between palm trees…what a way to relax!
….footsteps in the sand lead to the best place to watch incredible sunsets.
….the KidsOnly club welcomes our little travelers to discover a world of fun and enjoyment. At Saint Géran they are pampered with Junior Spa treatments, MacBooks and lots of fun entertainment!
….in the end you just don’t want to leave…there is something special about this place.
The One&Only Le Saint Géran resort in Mauritius is one of a kind. Why did I like this resort so much? Of course the views and the facilities are magnificent. But there was more. You feel immediately at home after your arrival. The overall set up of the hotel, the sheltered lagoon, they all feel very comfortable.

You’re on the list Heidi!
That looks like a step up from our usual budget travel. We’ll be adding a little more luxury when we visit Europe. Some great pics there as well.
That is true Manfred. We also say to each other that sometimes we have to treat ourselves with some luxury and not always pick the cheapest places…
